What is the difference between story and plot? What is the difference between plot summary and plot interpretation? How do you analyze the relationship between the main plot and a subplot? What are the purposes of literary elements and literary techniques? What are the writer’s literary devices and reader’s literary devices? How do you recognize and appreciate ways in which writer use language, structure and style to achieve his intended effects on the reader? How do you shift from mere appreciation of a literary text to critical literary appreciation? How do you engage in literary analysis & what is the purpose? What is the difference between topic and theme and how do you arrive at the theme? How do you compare the theme and the moral message? How do you develop an interpretation of a work of literature (drama, poetry and prose) and what is the purpose? How do you present critical appreciations or your individual responses to literary texts composed in different forms and in different periods and cultures? How do you know your individual response is valid? What are the differences between Critical Literary Appreciation, Literary Criticism, and Literary Theory? Why should there be a Literary theory at all?

Returning from Mr. Jobs’ creation in micro-technology, to the subject matter of syllabus improvement at Cambridge, it is obvious, that the definitive expected result would be that students who sit for Cambridge OL English Language [1123] from 2024 onwards are bound to perform better in AS & A Level English Language [9093] and Literature in English [9695] examinations. The prime matter or the real deal in competence in English is a superior command in writing since it reveals nothing less than your very capacity in critical thinking presented in the formalized form. Plain and simple. Either you have it, or you don’t. If you don’t, then you learn it. If you gain a superior command in English, then you are well equipped to do a postgraduate degree at a university. Foundational Features of Speech & Writing: Language, Form & Structure
Cambridge OL English Language 1123 [new syllabus year 2024 onwards] is streamlined with Language, Form & Structure, the Foundational Features of Speech & Writing of Cambridge AS & A English Language 9093.

Shakespeare For All times.

When in 1983 the Secretary of State required the nine GCE boards to devise a common core for A level, the English working party could agree only one thing that is not vague and general: that at least one play by Shakespeare must be studied.(4) (See note 10 for an explanation of the British examination. system.)

In the British education system, the 1990 National Curriculum in English lists Shakespeare as the only author that all British schoolchildren, over the age of 13, must study (Curtis, 2008).

“Our education, in the English-speaking world, but in many other nations as well, has been Shakespearean. Even now, when our education has faltered, and Shakespeare is battered and truncated by our fashionable ideologues, the ideologues themselves are caricatures of Shakespearean energies.” Surprisingly as it may seem, researchers have concluded that almost 20,000 musical compositions were influenced by Shakespeare (Gross, 2003). The character of Hamlet enabled Freud to, in part, develop his theories of human nature and so emphasizes Bloom’s point (Paraisz, 2006). Shakespeare’s influence, as evidenced from the examples above, is far-reaching. Where, in Shakespeare, are these seeds of education theory sown? .newfoundations.com/GALLERY/Shakespeare.html

My Sri Lanka Holidays

WRITTEN BY bunpeiris. Sri Lanka's Living Heritage [2561 years] and Sri Lanka's Lifeline is one and same. Our land is made self-sustaining by our ancient Sinhalese kings. If not for the great network [rainwater catchment and cascade system] of vast ancient and medieval rainwater reservoirs built by Sinhalese kings that supply water to the paddy fields [not to forget, our small village tanks] all Sri Lankans [including Tamils and Muslims] would be starving to death. In the same grain, Sri Lanka’s living heritage of great Buddhist Stupas and Temples is Sri Lanka’s only living heritage. Sri Lanka’s overarching culture is Sinhalese Buddhist culture, no matter, Sinhalese Christians or Tamil Hindus. We are all Sri Lankans who ought to be grateful for the physical nourishment and moral succor that originate in Sinhalese living culture and living heritage. As much as it is true that Modern Sri Lanka is home to all Sri Lankans, it is also true motherland will not be cut and sliced as the nuclear bomber of Hiroshima & Nagasaki, the West and other uncivilized morons want. Learn of Our Motherland. Love your motherland as you love your mother and father. http://www.mysrilankaholidays.com/ancient-sinhalese-irrigation.html http://www.mysrilankaholidays.com/sinhalese-history.html

Primary Function of Poetry

Poetry, the elemental speech, is the like the elements. Its primary function is not to convey thought, but to reflect life. It shows man his soul, as a looking glass does his face. There hangs the mirror on the wall, a definite object, the same for all. Yet whoever looks into it sees not the mirror but himself. We all live in the same world, but what different worlds we see in it and make out of it: Caesar’s, Jesus’, Machiavelli’s, Mozart’s–yours and mine. Harold C. Goddard
